Stephen, David, John, and others partnered in building several ships in Phila. From 1765-1770, 6 vessels were registered at the Port of Philadelphia that listed Stephen as an owner. Stephen also outfitted a number of armed miitary vessels, such as the Lexington, commanded by John Barry. Member of the Dancing Assembly and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick in Phila. Member of the Gloucester Fox Hunting Club in NY.
